What if you're among the vast majority of players who can't work the ball on command like the pros? What if your natural shot only curves one way? Well, we have good news, because Titleist staff member Mark Blackburn shared a simple tip that doesn't require any adjustments at all to your natural swing mechanics. It just takes a little understanding of your own ball flight and some new thinking as far as where you should tee the ball up.
On the greens, aiming properly is only half the battle when it comes to making putts. The putter face also needs to be square at impact in order to get the ball rolling on your intended line. In this tip, Titleist Staff Member Michael Breed shows how drawing a line on your golf ball that is perpendicular to the sidestamp will help you to do just that.
You can almost always trace a big fault in your golf swing back to your first move off the ball. Get that right and the rest of your swing usually falls nicely into place.

We've all encountered the 'grey zone' during a round but you might not be aware of it. Wedge expert Alex Buckner has this key insight to improving how you can conker the grey zone and dramatically save strokes.
Have you ever hit a shot during a round of golf that completely befuddled you? You double-checked your yardage and you picked the right club. You made a good swing and caught the ball cleanly, but inexplicably, your shot falls way short of the target. Well, as Titleist staff member Tom Patri shares in this video, the problem quite possibly might have been the wind. As Tom shows, what breeze you feel at ground level or what you can see up at the green can be substantially different than the conditions above you. Wind speed naturally increases as altitude increases, but the terrain can often mask this phenomenon. Your best bet? Always remember to look up. Treetops will give you a good idea of how hard the wind is blowing above you. Your full shots can climb to heights of 80-100+ feet, so you need to account for the wind at this elevation. When you build this into your pre-shot routine, you'll reduce those head-scratcher shots dramatically.
Whether you're a beginner golfer or a plus handicap, it's never a bad idea to review and practice the fundamentals of stance, setup and alignment. How you stand to the ball and position your body has a huge influence on how you're able to move and swing the golf club. By extension, how you're able to move has just as big an impact on how your shots will fly and where your golf ball will ultimately go.

Looks can be deceiving. Throughout golf history there have been many great players who have hit the golf ball miles with seemingly effortless swings. Maybe the contrast between these types of smooth, well-sequenced swings and the violent, uncoordinated lashes we see from many unskilled golfers is what has perpetuated the myth that you should swing slowly.
Some of the biggest hitters in golf are also some of the biggest jumpers. TPI co-founder Dr. Greg Rose shares why vertical jump is a good indicator of potential power in golf.
“A more consistent game" often tops the wish lists of many golfers. As Titleist Staff Professional Trillium Rose notes in the video above, she has certainly heard these pleas from her students. And the good news? A more consistent game is within reach! We all have flaws in our swings, but those flaws can be managed with some mindful attention to a few pre-shot details and by building a consistent approach.
To drive the golf ball further, you need to swing the golf club faster. Pretty logical, right? But what's the best way to increase your swing speed? If distance is your goal, one big thing to keep in mind is that the ball goes farthest when it is struck with the centre of the clubface. Speed on its own isn't worth a great deal if you can't maintain some control over the club.
If you've watched any professional golf on television, you've likely seen an interview with a player who has just fired a 66 or 67, but who claims, "It was a struggle. I didn't really have my 'A' game today."
To drive the golf ball further, you need to swing the golf club faster. Pretty logical, right? But what's the best way to increase your swing speed? If distance is your goal, one big thing to keep in mind is that the ball goes furthest when it is struck with the center of the clubface. Speed on its own isn't worth a great deal if you can't maintain some control over the club.
If you've played golf for any length of time, it's likely that you've been sidelined by lower back pain. The lumbar region of the spine is particularly vulnerable in rotational sports like golf, but you can avoid those visits to the chiropractor with proper swing mechanics. In this video, Titleist staff member and TPI co-founder Dr. Greg Rose explains that it's the thoracic spine and the hips that should be mobile in the golf swing. In contrast, the lower back should remain stable.
One of the most important things you can do to improve your golf game is to practice intelligently. Practice is only effective if it helps you to learn. And as Titleist staff member Dr. Greg Rose reveals, performing well during practice is not the same thing as learning. Performing well is having success in an isolated moment. Learning is harder. Real learning is about improving a skill and retaining that new level of proficiency.

There's more than one way to swing a golf club. In fact, there are infinite ways to swing but finding the most efficient swing for your game, based on what you can physically do, is part of the puzzle that the TPI team aims to help golfers unlock. Said another way, how your swing works is more important than how your swing looks.
The best ball strikers are more passive with their hands. Their club head lags behind their hands and their club shaft leans forward, toward the target at impact. This is a key to making clean contact and compressing the golf ball.
The golf swing is an athletic movement and Dan Whittaker has a tip for generating power that’s common among athletes across many other sporting disciplines. Check it out!
Throughout history, great golfers have swung the club in an endless variety of ways - slow and syrupy, quick and aggressive, flat plane, upright plane and everything in between. Yet for all the idiosyncrasies you’ll find among golf’s best ball-strikers, their impact conditions are remarkably similar.
Golf is a game of misses. Yes, you might hit a handful of shots that feel perfect and come off just as you envisioned, but the vast majority of shots are going to be off - sometimes just a little, sometimes severely. What separates great players from good players is that misses from great players tend to be very functional shots. They rarely miss so badly that they can't recover and salvage a par or, at worst, bogey. Eliminating those big numbers is a key to their ability to shoot the low scores they do.
Have you ever taken a golf lesson? Or attended a golf clinic with a trained PGA Professional? If you have have, odds are good that one of the first things the pro will examine (and usually correct) is how you hold the club. The grip is the first building block of the golf swing and many argue that it is the most important golf fundamental.
If you suffer from inconsistent contact with your irons, a common cause is casting, throwing the head of the club at the ball. The best ball strikers are more passive with their hands. Their club head lags behind their hands and their club shaft leans forward, toward the target at impact. This is a key to making clean contact and compressing the golf ball.
Matching your golf grip to your clubface at address is key to helping you make that perfect contact at impact and Titleist Staff Member Jason Baile is here with a key checkpoint to help you out.
